and Manufacturing Automation Research
Dr. Bone has been a faculty member in the Department of Mechanical Engineering since 1994. His research interests are in the areas of robotics and manufacturing automation. This research is supported by industry and government sources. His research group includes undergraduate, Master's and Ph.D. students.
He received the President's Award for Excellence in Graduate Supervision in 2004. He is a co-recipient of the IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering Best Paper Award for 2004. His undergraduate teaching interests and experience include: Robotics
(Mech Eng 4K03), Mechatronics (Mech Eng 4H03), Control Systems (4R03), Design (2C03 and 4M06), Kinematics (2A03), and Manufacturing Processes (3C03). He also teaches the graduate course: Advanced Control Systems (Mech Eng 751).
